This year our traditional Christmas Eve service will be held at 10:00 p.m. Our service will be the “Lessons and Carols” candle light service. This traditional service is made up of nine scripture readings interspersed with Christmas Carols. We walk through the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus, told in nine short Bible readings. Join us for this lovely candlelight service.
This service dates back to the original version performed on Christmas Eve in Cornwall, England in 1880. The “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” continues to grow in popularity, being broadcast by the BBC yearly since 1928 (with the exception of 1930), through World War II (without stained glass or heating), and during the COVID pandemic (without a congregation in 2020).
