Schedule for this Weekend
Youth Night Changes for this Week
This week, many of our students are aware of the passing of a peer from Cedar Crest Middle School. Church of the Good Shepherd is hosting a time of visitation with the family of Jackson Call this Sunday, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM; we invite any students who knew Jackson or his family to stop by.
Our Youth Group Activity for Sunday will take place at South Hills Park from 6:00 – 7:30 PM, gathering at the Lincoln Avenue Entrance. We will begin our time with a moment of silence and prayer for the Call family, and then we will enjoy a great evening of games and faith talk!
In-Person Sunday School
We are returning to in-person Sunday School as our only offering, beginning this week! We are starting a new series, Waitlisted: Waiting on God. In this series, we will explore several biblical stories of people who learned to wait and trust in God’s timing!
This week’s lesson: God has a plan, but we might have to wait for it.
Student BiblesEvery student who calls Good Shepherd home gets a new Bible as part of their time in the Youth Ministry! As students are growing in their own faith journey, we work with each student individually to choose the right Bible for them, instead of purchasing the same Bible for all students! If your student would like to order a new Bible, reach out to Connor and he can make arrangements to help students discover a Bible they will love to read personally and as part of Church gatherings! |
Waitlist: Waiting on GodYou know that feeling you get when someone makes you a big promise? You probably feel excited, but you might feel a little skeptical too — especially when that promise gets delayed . . . and delayed again . . . and again. If you have to wait long enough for something you were promised, you might start to wonder when you’ve waited long enough. Eventually, you might even give up hope. In this 4-week series, we’ll meet a handful of people from Scripture who each spent a long time waiting on God. From the stories of Abraham and Sarah, Paul and Silas, King David, and Joseph, we’ll discover that God has a plan, but we might have to wait for it, and we’ll be reminded that, while we’re waiting, God is faithful, God is listening, and we should never give up, because God’s not giving up on us.
