Last week, we announced that we would officially return to in-person gathering (with masks and social distancing) this Sunday, January 31st. This remains true for COGS as a whole—we will have in-person worship at 9:45 AM (Contemporary) and 11:00 AM (Traditional) for our congregation! During this time, our children will also have Sunday school available, though there will not be a staffed nursery—instead, the room will be available for any parents who may need to step out of service with young ones.
Unfortunately, our plans for the Youth Ministry are going to be delayed. I (Connor) am currently in quarantine for a close contact until Monday, February 1st. Here is how that impacts our ministry for this coming Sunday:
Youth Night: Youth Night this week will be Online only via Zoom from 6:00 – 7:00 PM! Log on for some fun conversation, games, and the simple joy of being together and seeing one another!
Our first in-person Youth Night will now be Sunday, February 14th because February 7th is Super Bowl Sunday!
Sunday School: For this week, we will not have in-person Sunday School! Due to the current COVID rates in Lebanon County, many of our Sunday school teachers do not presently feel comfortable teaching indoors, and our leadership fully supports their discernment in making their decision! Because I am in quarantine, we will have only our recorded lesson and family discussion guide, as we have been doing since the beginning of December!
If you are comfortable teaching or helping in Sunday School indoors for a season, please contact me at cfelty@umcogs.org! Our ministries rely on volunteer leadership to be maintained, so any help is welcome!
