“Greetings from Gretna Glen!
Happy Fall! I hope this email finds you enjoying this beautiful weather and all the fall colors. Camp has been absolutely stunning this fall and we were able to enjoy our first ever fall fun day on October 18th with almost 90 guests. We are thankful to also have hosted some smaller fall retreat groups and family getaway events. While our site is not as bustling as usual, we have been blessed to be using the outdoor space that we have to safely gather together. Hearing and seeing folks enjoy this space with our best practices in place feels mentally and physically safe for all who choose to come.
I wanted to share with you a few options to be involved with Gretna Glen through this financially challenging time for us. We hope you find a connection with one of them. Gretna Glen has lost over $800,000 of income in 2020. We have been blessed with the PPP loan, a grant from our EPA UMC conference and financial sup-port from generous donors. While this has been a huge support to us, covering the cost of payroll and utilities continues to offer challenges—even with a reduction in salaries and furloughs. Our utility and payroll expens-es on average are $32,500 per month. We hope one of these options are a fun way for you to help us bridge the gap during this time.
Our prayers are with you.
