The 2020 Living Gift Market is now closed.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you again in 2021!
This year our annual Living Gift Market will look a bit different. We are not having the traditional one-day event with animals, crafts, food, etc. as in the past. BUT… don’t worry; we are still supporting Heifer International. There are several ways that everyone can participate and support this wonderful mission to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth and Passing on the Gift.

Biogas Stoves
Full Cost $500.00
Full Share $50.00
Partial Share $25.00
“Cooking usually means gathering firewood by hand … and smoke inhalation in poorly ventilated homes often leads to chronic lung and eye diseases. A biogas stove is a better option. It runs off methane gas captured from animal waste; and burns cleanly, reliably and efficiently. This is not only better for the environment, but it is more sustainable and healthier for families feeding their children.”
1 School of Fish
Full Cost $100.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“Since 1944, we have helped more than 31 million families. We monitor project data, track our progress and then evaluate our overall impact. These evaluations ensure that our work to place livestock and pass on knowledge and training in sustainable farming practices will benefit communities for generations.”

Flock of Chicks
Full Cost $20.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“We have set a goal to help 4 million families achieve living incomes by 2020. This income will allow them to educate their children; feed themselves adequately every day; and have proper housing, water, hygiene and other essential resources. Along with defining living income benchmarks in the countries where we work, we are connecting farmers to markets to make sure they are able to sell what they produce and nurture local economies.”

Flock of Ducks
Full Cost $20.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“Heifer Vietnam will help families–especially women-led households–improve production and gain access to local markets. Gender equity training will empower women to increase their roles in family decision making and become community leaders.”

Goat
Full Cost $120.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“We know from our large-scale value chain projects in East Africa, Nepal and Haiti that entrepreneurs play a key role in rural economic development. They design and commercialize products and services, create jobs and generate new waves of economic development in their communities. We equip socially-minded entrepreneurs, especially women and youth, with the skills and resources they need to earn living incomes.”

Heifer
Full Cost $500.00
Full Share $50.00
Partial Share $25.00
“Livestock ownership improves dietary diversity and expanded ownership alters the local food economy to influence food consumption by households lacking farm animals.”

Honey Bees
Full Cost $30.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“The hallmark of our approach, each farming family passes on animals or time and knowledge. The act transforms recipients into donors and produces a profound sense of accomplishment. This practice, at a minimum, doubles the impact of the original gift. It’s proof that small actions can lead to big results.”

Irrigation Pumps
Full Cost $150.00
Full Share $15.00
Partial Share $5.00
“Access to safe water is a necessity we often take for granted, but poor families around the world struggle to obtain this vital resource. Heifer’s solution is to help rural families install treadle pumps that maximize the number of growing seasons and allow them to expand the types of crops on their land.”

Llama
Full Cost $150.00
Full Share $15.00
Partial Share $5.00
“Heifer provides llamas and alpacas to families living in high altitudes in the Andes Mountains of South America. Few other animals can withstand the harsh conditions. The gift of an alpaca means a child will finally get a chance at an education, thanks to the money earned from selling the wool.”

Pig
Full Cost $120.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“We know that no single organization and no number of isolated projects can address the systemic causes of poverty and hunger. Our approach involves enhancing the capacity of vulnerable small-scale farmers, especially women, to secure their livelihoods. Multiplied by strong social capital and women’s empowerment, our work results in a sustainable solution to world hunger and poverty.”

Trio of Rabbits
Full Cost $60.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“Our projects seek to increase women’s participation in decision-making at the household and community levels, as well as their access to income and assets and leadership roles.”

Sheep
Full Cost $120.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“Heifer International connects small-scale farmers to market opportunities, with the goal of seeking social impact first and foremost, with any financial returns invested back into the communities where we work around the world.”

Tree Seedlings
Full Cost $60.00
Full Share $10.00
Partial Share $5.00
“A family with a small orchard is able to supplement their diet with delicious fruits and vegetables while becoming self-reliant at the same time. Passing on the seedlings enables communities to continue the cycle of sustainability. Your plant a tree gift ensures a healthy, productive future while fighting poverty and hunger.”
Water Buffalo

Full Cost $250.00
Full Share $100.00
Partial Share $25.00
“People in the marshlands of India, southeastern Asia and parts South America depend on water buffalo more than any other animal. They are well suited for working the land, which allows farm families to produce more, better crops. These, in turn, can be used to feed their children or sold to earn money for medicine and clothing.”

Women’s Empowerment
Full Cost $250.00
Full Share $100.00
Partial Share $25.00
“Women’s empowerment is an international component of our work. We remove barriers to women’s economic empowerment – creating access to credit, basic productive resources, technical training and market opportunities. … Our programs encourage women to exercise their economic rights, decision-making capacity, active participation and land/small business ownership.”
